I took part in the Sprin-D Venture Day. A truly inspiring event and a recommendation for every investor with an interest in (deep) tech and innovation from Germany and Europe.
I have met exciting startups and had great conversations.
Artificial Intelligence was of course a central topic at the event. In addition, there was a whole range of really interesting topics from energy tech and climate tech to life science and advanced materials to the future of computing and robotics.
Did you know that energy will be transmitted over long distances wirelessly in the future? This is already possible today, as I learned from Emrod. One of many new things I learned that day.
It was really impressive to see the potential for new ideas and talent in Europe and Germany and how this can be turned from an idea into a real innovation with the help of Sprin-D.
The fact that this is important for us in Europe also became clear in Thomas Range’s interview with Joschka Fischer. His clear message: Europe must use its potential now. The past of global world trade as we know it and cooperation with the USA will not return. Trust has been lost and will be difficult to regain. Europe is now the only continent where legal certainty still applies.
It is therefore even more important that we build new innovative companies from these ideas and opportunities and that they help us to shape our future in a positive way. Whether in the field of energy, artificial intelligence or defense. Rafael Laguna made this very clear once again in his closing keynote.
With the AI.Fund, I actively support this with our investments in European AI start-ups.
A must-attend event for next year.
